RE

This week, we would like you to spend time thinking of someone that you would consider to be inspirational. This could be someone that is known to you personally, a relative or friend; or it can be someone who is well known, a celebrity or a person from history.

Spend time researching their life and thinking about what qualities they have shown and how these qualities have shaped their lives. Record your knowledge by creating a fact file about this individual’s life, a powerpoint, a piece of writing or a poem, even a poster. Make sure that you explain clearly why you consider them to be inspirational.

Science/Geography

Week beginning 28th September 2020

Year 5 and 6 Mathematics

For all Mathematics tasks, please complete the sessions from last week as we are still working on these in class.

English – The Explorer

As we continue to read the text we are exploring the main characters that we have met so far. Read the extracts of the text below and highlight the sections which describe our characters. As we start to think about them all in more detail, write a short paragraph about each person thinking about their qualities and characteristics.

RE – Ourselves

We have been thinking lots about who we are and what makes us special and unique. Using your knowledge organiser and the ‘Footprints’ reading, write your own prayer thanking God for a time where you felt his support and strength.

Topic – Geography – Rainforests

This week we are looking at the water cycle within the rainforest. To help you to see and understand this for yourself, have a go at making your own ‘Rainforest in a jar’ using the instructions below. Research ‘The Water Cycle’ using the internet and see if you can describe what is happening in your jar over time.
